David Brown, CPA, CGMA
As a 27 year industry veteran, David began his career as Assistant Controller for a local company. He went on to hold various positions with several local CPA firms. As a partner in one firm, he was responsible for managing the relationships with several Fortune 500 Companies and recovering lost profits for those entities. His experience includes a specific focus on small business consulting and tax planning for high net worth individuals. He also has held CFO level positions at two local companies. David has helped sell several small businesses to major corporations and was an integral part in providing due diligence services and negotiating a sales price. David, Daniel, and Whit founded Brown, Hiers and Associates in 2017 offering personalized services to businesses of all sizes.

Daniel Hiers, CPA
With more than 20 years of experience in private and public accounting, Daniel currently provides tax planning and compliance services for individuals and a variety of closely held businesses including operations involved in the real estate, retail, restaurant and hospitality, and auto dealership industries. He holds extensive practice in providing tax, accounting, and consulting services to high net worth individuals and multi-state operating entities. His experience includes assistance with strategic tax structures, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity investment partnerships.

Whit Kinder, CPA/ABV, CVA, CFE
Whit provides consulting and valuation services for litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and closely-held businesses for a variety of purposes and industries. He also provides support to attorneys, depositions and testimony with a focus on partnership disputes, lost profits and business valuation matters. With over 18 years of experience in public accounting, Whit offers consulting, audit and assurance services to a broad range of clients.

With more than 13 years of experience in private and public accounting, Ed provides a wide range of tax, assurance, and consulting services to closely held businesses and individuals. He has worked as a CFO for a closely held business and is experienced working with tax credits. Ed joined Brown Hiers Kinder on July 1, 2020.
